French Bread

Ha ha, get it? Pain is French for “bread” and also the result of severe gluten intolerance.

That’s the thing about celiac humor. It’s not that funny.

No knead to get upset with this. It’ just another crumby tat.

  2. Canaduck says:

Another tattoo that would be better as a t-shirt. That said, I do think this one is pretty funny. I love the little “ow”.

  3. Thistle Dew says:

I would think better of this one if it turns out it is on the stump of a good humored amputee.

    • Jam says:

My first thought, but I can’t tell if that is the case.

    • orangekitten says:

I keep trying to think the bread is a euphemism for something. Too much exposure to peni and peni associates. But…I have images of a guy who has nicknamed himself “french loaf” or something like that….

      • Pol Pot Plant says:

Still if the owner ever feels stupid about their humorous baguette visual pun, they can easily rework it into a grotesque phallus being transected with a bread knife. Much better!

      • seriously! says:

peni associates??!?! hahahahaha that is too much. You’ve become too jaded. A ridiculous homemade tattoo is no longer enough for you? You keep looking for the peni associates…. tsk tsk tsk

  4. Mike says:

In the thumbnail it looked like “plane”, the knife was the wings, the bread the fuselage.

  5. surrealfarm says:

I’m surprised that no troll has screamed “sharpie!”.

    • Muphry's Law says:

      SHARPIE!!!

      Happy now?

    • Anna Rexia says:

I looked closer to see if the top text was, because it doesn’t make sense to me that the part where the bread is inked on is shaved, but the other part isn’t, yet it looks like this was all done at the same time. I’m perplexed.

  6. Owl says:

Let’s hope he decides against a poo poo platter tattoo.

  7. annna says:

This would have been better if you’d have spelt COELIAC correctly.

    • just visiting says:

      *Psssst: Both spellings are correct
In the UK and Australia it is spelled “coeliac,” whereas in the USA you would recognize it as “Celiac.” *

    • paul says:

There is a great pun about “spelt” bread in there somewhere…especially coming from a celiac sufferer.

  8. French Soldier says:

I fart in your general direction!

  9. Devo says:

This is a stick and poke i did on my leg, not sharpie,
i was definalty half baked haha, thats why i didnt shave enough of the hair off

  10. Borat says:

    That’s called a baguette.

  11. Maico says:

Isn’t this a reference as well to the leg/arm he lost? :p

  12. Vanessa says:

Um… is it just ME? …or does it look more like a commentary on the amputation? Though ‘pain’ in French DOES mean ‘bread,’ it seems more poignant for the knife through the bread if you look SOUTH of the actual tattoo….

  13. Flinch says:

Yeah, that looks like a stump to me.

  14. queenzig4578 says:

Jerk. I have celiac and I don’t find it funny. You wouldn’t either if you got freaking cramps from have a slice of pizza.

  15. Lytrigian says:

I’m pretty sure Kliban drew a cartoon like this back in the 1970s or so.

  16. mrs.pain says:

I have gluten intolerance and I find it very funny.

“Break bread in my name.” -Mrs.Pa_in

Rice crust pizza is better anyway. Hold the cheese.

  17. I love eating pain! Lol. Cause of extreme damage of gluten intolerance or celiac disease. That’s “Ow”. What it lost, is it arm or leg?

  18. person says:

PLEASE tell me that he got this tat on his finger????

  19. person says:

    or knee or SOMETHING????
