I’ll admit, this is a pretty awesomely done tattoo, because my eye is having trouble not seeing the black part as a really deep cavern carved into your face. And who doesn’t want a really deep cavern carved into his face? I mean, besides EVERYONE.

The work is too impeccably done to be airbrush, I think. I don’t think anyone could sit through something like that and not sweat. Plus, as has been pointed out, he has other facial work already. The reflection in DeNiro’s eyes is a bit intense at this point, but it should be when it’s this fresh, and will tone down, as will the black, once the tattoo has fully healed.
I’m puzzled as to why they chose that tattoo for that spot, however. I mean, shit, it’s Robert DeNiro, nestled within tribal work. The portrait is absolutely fantastic work. The artist even incorporated DeNiro’s forehead wrinkles with the guy’s eye lines. Now that’s skill. You can even see imperfections in DeNiro’s skin.
The thing is, it just doesn’t fit with the other work.

I know you didn’t ask me, but I am going to answer anyway. It’s puffy and red at the top and a few places around DeNiro’s face- those are signs that it’s a pretty fresh tattoo.
It’s good except for his left eye. There is some white on the eyelid that makes it look like that eye is REALLY open.

That does look a bit puffy and red for paint … unless maybe he’s allergic to it?
Oh well, it’s his face, to do with what he wants. I wonder if DeNiro could sue for unauthorized use of his likeness?
I wouldn’t mind Robert DeNiro being my parasitic twin… I just wouldn’t want him hanging off my face. I do hope this is paint, but I have a feeling it isn’t.

As much as I hate facial tattoos on principle, I’m actually ok with this one. He already has stuff coming up his neck onto his face, so what’s a bit more? And I like that it is well done and NOT the usual gang-related bs.

And, Cleo, I certainly don’t have the excellent eye/skill that Anna does for figuring these things out, but yeah, it does kinda look more painted than permanent. *shrug*

It’s a nicely done likeness of DeNiro… Just looks really creepy on the dude’s face. Seriously, when this dude is 80 and wrinkled, Mr. DeNiro is gonna look like hell…
Yes, but when this dude is old and wrinkly, the tattoo of DeNiro will then look alot better then the real DeNiro

This is definitely a real tattoo. His skin texture wouldn’t be so obvious if it were paint. Besides, it looks a little swollen, like it’s fresh.
I like it, although it’s going to look like DeNiro got in a bar fight every time the guy gets a zit.

That would be pretty awesome. Actually, if I grew a beard, and was of a mind to get a tattoo on my face, it’d be someone peering over the top of the beard, like peeking over a hedge.

Why is DeNiro’s face covered with pimples/warts? I don’t know if those are on the guy’s skin or part of the tattoo, but it looks terrible.

Maybe it’s a cover up? Other people have pointed out the redness, puffiness, etc. — maybe he had this done to hide a burn or other disfigurement?

I’m not sure it’s DeNiro…looks more like Edward James Olmos to me which would also explain the pimple/acne scar look to the cheek area

I just got a tattoo done by him, and yes it is real its not painted on. up close and in person it looks really good.
That is amazing!!! One of the best portraits I have ever seen. Obviously it is not everyone’s cup of tea but as you said, F the haters. De Niro is my all time favorite actor and Goodfellas is my all time Fave movie. One of the coolest tattoo’s I’ve ever seen.
