I’ll admit that this one is impressive. And maybe I’ve just been writing for this site for too long, but I admire the restraint it must have taken this guy to get Hand with Reflecting Sphere on the back of his head instead of the Tower of Babel on his penis.

I have an Escher tattoo as well. The bugs run down my left side from my armpit to below my hip. Where is your sphere?
It’s on my back. Thank goodness my tattoo artist was smarter than me when I got it becasue I wanted in on my lower back but he assured me that it would look like I had a hand coming out of my butt

I love Escher tattoos! I want to get one someday, but I can never decide which print I like best– and I’ve only got so much tattooable canvas on my body.

It’s a drawing by M.C. Escher – the sphere, not the head. He does some really trippy, and yet amazing, work.
Yeah, I don’t think the artist exists who could make that happen. Anyway, you’d have to view it from that one point, since if the perspective is correct from that angle, any other will distort the hell out of the image. Pity.
Still, amazing idea.

That would be most epic, but what about when you bend over? What if you ever go to jail and have to do the bend over and spread ‘em thing? A sea theme that’s otherwise hidden?

you couldn’t fuckin search for it and find it but lo and behold the second commenter has it.
There are probably thousands of people in the world with this tattoo, or another by the original artist. While this one is, of cours, photoshopped, M.C. Escher has been fodder for ink for decades, especially his better known works of which this is one.
So, yes, I can well imagine someone reading this blog has an Escher tattoo. And I hope Melinda never has to see it on this site, though she should post and let US decide that!
I was thinking this was a pretty good way to capitalize on a bald head, and then I read the crushing news that it was ‘shopped. I used to work at a book/music/video store, where a regular bald-headed patron had a most interesting tattoo on his pate of two skeletal hands appearing to part the skin of his head and peel it back.
I’m gutted – when I clicked the “Tower of Babel” link, I got the Tower of Babel wikipedia entry instead of a penis with the Tower of Babel tattooed on it.

I am confused. I thought this was a real tattoo on some guys head, but the inspiration (ie the sphere in the hand) was from “this picture is worth a 1000″. Am I wrong?

I watched a guy get this, on TLC’s Miami Ink. This particular picture might be a photoshop, but I have seen someone actually get this tattoo, in that same spot… just saying… (I think the lower half it it had several puzzle pieces missing.. or something like that)
I can’t tell if it is indeed ‘shopped or not – but i CAN tell you that this can definitely be done. I’d love to meet the person who gets this tattoed on their head…. it rocks
