It’s a good thing this person doesn’t less than three a font with a longer name (personally, I’ve always been a fan of Century Gothic), because even Helvetica here is on the verge of a bad break. Nothing ruins a good tramp stamp like a widow in your ass crack.

Copy & paste this:

Fontastic!
hehe I’m almost positive that this guy is just a proud resident of Switzerland (or,confoederatio helvetica) and choose that font just for pun
If it’s a pun, it’s rather clever.
I’m a big fan of typography, loved your assessment!
P.S. I also love Century Gothic!!
That’s exactly what I was about to say! I’m a sucker for graphic design jokes…
The funniest thing is that isn’t even Helvetica. The top of the t in Helvetica doesn’t have a slope on it, and the a has a much longer tail. That looks like Arial. Oops!
After much poring over font samples, I’m forced to conclude that in fact this is Helvetica. The short tail on the “a” is a feature of the bold style, and the slope on the “t” is either a skin stretching or photographic artifact.
Mea culpa.
Phingerspex: you checked up on it. You are made of win.
I concur. It stopped the font geek in me from searching through a few thousand fonts on my computer in order to find the matching font. Ironically, I don’t have Helvetica.
Ironic, really, that although Microsoft use Helvetica for their logo, they don’t include the font with windows.
For real typography geeks, here’s an excellent short film showing the many faces of Helvetica: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhKKIXDypxk
You call yourself a “font geek”, but don’t have Helvetica in your collection? You probably call yourself a webmaster, and a “designer” because you know how to use PhotoShop, right?
Verdilak that was such a rude comment, and totally unsolicited.
My friend has the word “type” on his back in his own type, it’s actually pretty cool, thought I’m not sure if his kerning is all correct…haha.
You can also tell it’s Helvetica because the ends of the “e” and “c” are horizontal; in Arial, those letters cut off with a slight angle. http://www.ms-studio.com/articlesarialsid.html
Century gothic is just an avant garde/futura rip-off.
look at the a – this is arial lol http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:%C3%9F_in_Arial_Helvetica_NewYork_Times.png
This is really cool. Aint lying. At lest it’s original…. and humorous
Yes but this brain surgeon has scarred it onto them for life, that’s the point.
Helvetica is a reference to Switzerland. (CH) is the abbreviation for Confoederatio Helvetica. Jeez, people- the font was named after the country, not the other way around. By the way, did you know that President John F. Kennedy was named after a NASA space facility? Who knew?
Although I’m not a fan of tramp stamps, I really like this tattoo.
I would have sex with this person. I don’t care who, what, or where s/he is. On the table, over the chair, whatever. NOW.
Century Gothic is the only font for me!
bad for you
But that’s awesome. :B
I wouldn’t get a tattoo like that but I seriously have to say that this is awesome.
Typography FTW! /ac
I’m just waiting for the first tat to be done in Comic Sans. That truly would be ugly!
Yeah, that would be a dealbreaker for me.
For me, it would be Cooper. That typestyle (yes, before there were fonts) is SO 1970s iron-on t-shirt store.
As a freelance designer with a penchant for typography, part of me truly appreciates this tattoo and finds it funny and well-done. But then the sane, logical person in me steps in and asks, “Why?”
And I agree with @anony mouse in that a comic sans tat would be both hilarious and hideous.
this is a dude.
Thats….disturbing.
Those jeans aren’t hipster enough for that tattoo.
Georgia FTW. Any scientist will tell you it makes their statistics look way cooler than they are.
I love this.
I’m sorry, I <3 this.
Helvetica rules.
It certainly does! Lookit all the variants it comes in: http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/adobe/helvetica/
“I’m a big fan of typography, loved your assessment
“I’m a big fan of typography, loved your assessment”
Yep, that typography is definitely loving their ass… essment.
fake; in theory.
Helvetica is also the name of an Ohio Roller girl. Could this be her husband or wife or girlfriend or boyfriend?
Unfortunately, after seeing this picture, he’s going to spend the rest of his life in AGONY that the tattooer didn’t kern that “c” over just a smidge to the left. Sure. Friends will try to tell him it looks fine. But, deep down he’ll know better. …Oh! *So* close to a life without regret!
Hahahahahaha! Today, Demetrius, you win The Internets. Use it wisely, my son, use it wisely.
livelavalive forever!
this tat is truly amazing. if anyone disagrees, you are truly not.
College Humour Font conference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3k5oY9AHHM
omg i know who that is!!! hahahahhahahha
he’s a graphic designer from where i live.
I’m more offended that he put his belt through the tag of his jeans.
That’s the sort of thing your dad does.
well, that’s because he doesn’t want to cover up his sweet armani exchange tag, obvs.
And yes.. it’s not helvetica. It’s Arial on his back. Wich is hilarious.
I know this guy personally. Web designer and photographer. Good guy…
this isn’t helvetica. the “a” should have a tail
